APOLLO-RIDGE MEDIA CENTER

The Apollo-Ridge School District is moving further into the 21st Century through the conversion of the Middle School library into a technology-based learning center.

This new learning center, the first of its kind in an Armstrong County school, will put state-of-the-art learning tools into the hands of Apollo-Ridge students and staff to enhance the fine academic program already in place.

In addition, the Interactive Multi-Media Center will open its doors to the community during hours that students are not in class.  Opportunities will exist for residents of the Apollo-Ridge School District to learn how to use the technology or volunteer in the center to teach others.

This partnership with the community will give access to those individuals who do not have online access or just want to be able to experience the cutting edge technology that will be available to them.

A committee of faculty and administrators is currently designing the layout of the center based upon research of similar facilities around the region.

The Apollo-Ridge Education Foundation is focusing its fund raising activities on the media center and the Speakers Series and is the primary source of funding for the facility.
