New substitutes for the 2012-2013 school year will be processed
by appointment only on Wednesday, August 1, 2012.

The first day of substitute teaching can be a unique experience.  You're not sure where to report, how to find your classroom, prep room, restroom, lunch room, art room ... and the list goes on and on!

Substitute Teacher 101 is a website developed to complement the Substitute Teacher Orientation Program developed by Apollo-Ridge administrators, teachers, support staff and substitutes.  It will help ensure your success from day one and start you on your way to a rewarding career in education.

You may begin by clicking on the links below.  Successful Subbing 101 is a presentation that will take you through the Apollo-Ridge policies and procedures for substitute teaching.  It includes a tutorial on Aesop(substitute caller) system.  Special Education Issues explains confidentiality in the area of special education.

The SUBSTITUTE TOOLKIT link will provide you with valuable, practical information that will make any day in the classroom a successful one.
